Just a little note from my heart today-
If you’re anything like me, you love to DO ALL THE THINGS when it comes to homeschooling.
You want to add in the painting class, go out and see a play, take some pottery class, do a big science project ONCE A WEEK (psssh… who has time for that?!)… and the such like.
But can I give you permission today?
I am giving you permission to:
- Slow down— Enjoy life and the moments with your children
- NOT do every subject EVERY DAY— Every subject does not have to be covered in one day, nor does every subject need to be a lengthy 1-2 hours each
- Keep your homeschool day shorter— Going longer or doing too much is a great way to kill the learning. Their brains can only handle so much before they jump into “done learning” mode. Small, shorter lessons are easy to focus on. Your kids are always learning whether it’s during school hours or not. They’re learning while cooking with you, reading a book a from the library, watching a documentary, listening to a podcast, building in the garage or planting a garden.
So there’s your permission to NOT FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO DO IT ALL, homeschool mama!
