I am always looking for simple and easy ways to create lessons for homeschool.
Whether it’s listening to a history podcast or using an Artza Box as geography, “simple” has my name written all over it.

The team at Artza put together a new box for this quarter and the area the box focused on, was the Negev in Israel. So what better way to throw in a random geography lesson with my kiddos, than to just use this Artza Box as a guide.
The Negev Artza Box
Anytime I get to learn more about the beautiful country of Israel and it’s people via a box from Artza, I get really giddy. And this box didn’t disappoint!
A few things inside and how we used them:
Postcards and Informational cards about the Negev
For our first dive into geography using the Arzta Box, we pulled out a big table-sized world map and found the Negev on the map.
Then, we read the informational cards and postcards included to learn some cool facts!
READING ABOUT “ADI”
ADI, The Ability Boutique provides rehabilitative workshops for those with disabilities. And from this company, we were given a beautiful, hand-painted ceramic dish by the ADI residents.
This was a great way to open for discussion about people with disabilities and how wonderful it was that they could have the opportunities to make such beautiful pieces of art.
A taste of israel
One cool thing I love about the Artza boxes, is how they always incorporate an ingredient plus recipe card for us to make a traditional food from Israel.
Not only is this is wonderful way to truly “experience” Israel when studying the area for your geography lessons, but this also opens up the door for more homeschool subjects such as math (for measuring) and home economics and life skills (cooking the recipe).
